I ‘ve traveled with OOS since my first RAGBRAI in 2009. Honestly, they are a major part of the reason that I continue to return to Iowa and participate year after year. The Haeffner’s and their staff are extremely welcoming, friendly and selfless to a point where I often feel like I’ve been temporarily adopted into a great big RAGBRAI family. They work tirelessly to accommodate any need and provide the best charter service possible. Whether the ride is easy or hard, long or short, the green arrows and yellow flags of OOS always give me a boost at the end of the road. The warm welcome and truly earnest interest in the welfare of each rider in their camp makes OOS a joy to travel with. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a charter. I know I won’t use anyone else.

Tim and Lynne of OOS are your perfect hosts. They made sure that our first RAGBRAI was beyond our expectations and met our every need. Their personal care and attention made us feel like family. Their camping sites were fantastic allowing us to have a quiet and restful night of sleep. Great people and a great company.

So you’re going to do RAGBRAI this summer. That’s great. But you still need to pick a charter group to ride with. While there are dozens to choose from you couldn’t possibly select a better one then OOS; Out-Of-Staters. I’ve been riding with this charter group for the last 12 years and emphatically state that they just don’t get any better. This charter group is a family oriented organization that has Mom (Lynne), Dad (Tim), the kids (Dani, Kaleb and Style) as well as other family members running the show every single day. This charter group isn’t run by strangers just doing a job. It’s run, every single day, by the family that owns it. Have a problem? There’s a Haeffner somewhere within sight that is probably dealing with that problem before you ask. Have a question, like “How do we get out of town tomorrow?” – there’s a Haeffner within earshot of you ….…WITH THE ANSWER. Need your tent set up before you get into camp? See Style and Kaleb. They don’t charge much but they sure do great work. As you pedal into each overnight town….you’ll be seeing Dani’s handiwork with the OOS signs she strategically places on the route to guide you right into camp. If you want to REALLY experience RAGBRAI and Iowa you have to ride with OOS. It just doesn’t get any better. I seriously believe that the main reason I truly love RAGBRAI, and keep coming back year after year after year…is OOS and the Haeffners. Join us. You’ll be part of the family before the 1st sunset Friday evening on the Mississippi.

“Tim and his staff consistently have gone the extra mile to help make our RAGBRAI adventure a wonderful experience. This year’s ride will be our 18th, and OOS has been our only charter service since Tim acquired ownership in 2005. He and his friendly staff have always maintained a relaxed and quiet camping environment and have efficiently made our transition from overnight town to overnight town smooth and uneventful. We’re excited about experiencing more of the same this summer.”
